for those who are counting… ten days until the wedding. ha!

oh man… where do i even begin? susan and stephanie threw us a shower a couple of weekends a go. the night before the shower, we worked until the wee hours getting the kitchen finished up… it’s finally all done, though. and it looks awesome. jenny and josh helped until around 3:30 am (i went to bed shortly thereafter) and i think that neo and jeromy were up until 5:30 am that morning. craziness. we were still putting up the last pieces of the backsplash ten minutes before the shower. but everything got finished and we had a great time. stephanie made a cake that looked like a wedding dress. susan made an fun mad lib with jeromy’s and my love story. the hit of the shower was the “toilet paper wedding dress” game - we got josh, hambone, and neo to be our model “brides.” they were all super good sports about the ordeal. jeromy and i received TONS of beeeeeeeautiful gifts. i can’t get over how generous everyone was! you name it and we got it - vacuum, kitchen utensils, photo frames, sheets, comforter, cleaning stuff, decorative stuff, serving dishes, etc. i’m working on writing all of my thank you notes - hopefully they’ll get out in the next day or two. we’ve had a blast putting everything up. it was really cool to have everyone over in one place, though. it was probably my favorite aspect of the day.

last weekend, i had my bachelorette party. nina did amazing putting on the shin dig. we had a cake (use your imagination) and played games. my favorite game was the 20 questions dvd nina put together…. she went to jeromy’s work and recorded him answering questions… for each one i got wrong, i had to put (and keep) a marshmellow in my mouth. it’s probably one of the most adorable things i’ve seen… she pulled pics from my flickr to put on each of the screens with the questions… and to top it off, she had the cure playing in the background. then all of my fabulous gal pals showered me with lingerie and adult gifts. (wink wink) we had a wonderfully naughty time… it was really cool to introduce my friends to one another. through the course of the evening, i found out that two of them already knew each other… it’s an odd coincidence: brenda was my running buddy when i lived in marble falls, tx. i moved away my senior year and wound up in the fort worth area. brenda went to college in alpine, tx and ended up getting married to lincoln after school and moving to irving. lincoln’s brother, chris, (who i’ve known since brenda got married) is dating a girl who is rue’s roomate (rue knows jeromy and i’m shooting rue’s wedding in april). rue also used to work with pam, who is a buddy from church. pam and brenda had gone to the orchestra not too long ago with their mutual group and didn’t know each other. so when brenda and pam saw each other at the shower, it all linked up and we were all like, “WHOA!” and later in the evening, i found out that jeromy went to school with lincoln and chris. it’s weird to me that brenda and i were both girls from marble falls both fell in love with guys from irving with a linked social circle. it kinda makes my head feel dizzy. but yeah… small world. all of us girls met up with the guys later in the evening for dinner and to go to main event. (jeromy and the boys spent the day at the gun range and everyone seemed to have a good time despite the fact that it was cold and rainy.) we played lasar tag and bowled until the wee hours of the evening… what a blast!

i’ve been busy running errands and taking care of last minute stuff today. i get my teeth cleaned this afternoon. tonight is bowling league, but i don’t know if i’m going to make it back over to dallas or not. i’ve learned that i suck at bowling. like big time. i’m the worst (or second to worst) bowler in the entire league. heh.

got my dress altered and fitted yesterday. i have to admit… it looks pretty cool when it’s all put together - veil, shoes, jewelry, etc. it still needs to be steamed and i go to pick it up the day before the wedding. whee! it’s all starting to hit jeromy and i… it’s all a little surreal. i am so happy!

anyhoo… i need to run and go to benbrook.
