it’s easter… and we had snow this weekend. i was sitting in starbucks with some clients during a consultation when it started. first, just a flake or two… and then a whole ton dusting the scene beyond the window. it was beautiful and all three of us stopped talking for a bit and just watched. i like the idea of snow on easter weekend and it brought the following to mind:
Isaiah 1:18
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
and that’s the message of today. that there’s hope.
in our lives, we hit valleys and points to where we feel low. that we’re not where we want to be or that we’ve screwed up so much that we can never be fixed. but christ conquered sin and death for us so that we would have a champion - an advocate at our father’s throne. he’s the ultimate artist, as he can transform the most vile of sin and deed into something as pure as snow.
there are many eloquent things that will be said, written and sung about jesus christ today. but to me, what resonates most is the one thing that can’t be fully communicated through text or speech - it’s the feeling of peace and hope that i receive on a daily basis when i’ve done nothing to deserve it.
happy easter… i hope that you all get the opportunity to pause for a moment and take a minute to fully realize that he truly lives.
