camaros and puddles don’t mix

November 22nd, 2006 · 1 Comment

just got in from somewhat of an adventure. poor jeff hit a puddle coming back from home, slid, and hit a curb/pole/etc. in his camaro. jeromy, susan, and i rushed over to meet him and when we arrived, there were already two officers on the scene. the irony is that he’s a professional truck driver and drives all day long. he had driven hundreds of miles this week…and the unfortunate event happened in his last 15 miles home in his personal vehicle. i’m just thankful to god that he wasn’t injured. he was lucky because he went between two poles before hitting a smaller one, so it could have been a whole lot worse. i’d like to think that he was being looked after. the right fender and wheel need to be replaced, but nothing seriously major.

while we were at the scene with two cops, a car went by in one direction honking its horn and then came back around right by the cops. they honked the horn tons and yelled out the window, “hey - thanksgiving is tomorrow.” the one younger cop looked at us and said he was going after the guy, hopped in his car, and sped off. a little bit later, the cop that had remained on the scene came back and said, “just thought you’d like to know… the guy that was yelling out the window had warrants out. the driver was the guy’s wife and had no license. and the passenger was holding a case of beer.” so that was kinda funny.

work today was slow. people were either not there or left early. i went to chili’s tonight with jeromy and his family and had a good time. i had intended to clean my apartment last night, but i guess that will wait until morning. i would like to have it all nice in case my grandma (who is coming up for thanksgiving) wants to see my apartment tomorrow for whatever reason.

jeromy is spending thanksgiving with my family all day tomorrow. ’twill be interesting. i hope that he enjoys the day and that everything goes well. i’m digging the four day holiday and have several things on my “to do” list.
